Meet the Team

Paul, together with Brian Tyrrell, established Tyrrell Dowinton Architects in 2003 and is a chartered architect with over 30 years experience in the construction industry.

Brian, together with Paul Dowinton, established Tyrrell Dowinton Architects in 2003, developing the technical aspects of the practice.

Jason gained a First Class Honours degree in Architectural Technology and was awarded the prestigious Lillian and Henry Stevenson prize, together with the Worshipful Company of Constructors Award for Construction in 2006.

Darren trained at the Manchester School of Architecture and has 20 years post qualification experience, mostly in Manchester and Alderney, with some time in Australia.

Stuart studied architecture at the University of Portsmouth and has since worked on a wide variety of projects including high spec. housing, office developments and a number of Guernsey Housing Association projects.

Jamie qualified as an Architectural Technician in 2005 through the Guernsey College of Further Education’s apprenticeship scheme.

Adam gained a degree in Interior Architecture & Design from Arts University Bournemouth in 2016. He returned to Guernsey and has been working in the architectural sector, joining TDA in December 2018.

Chloe has gained a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment and is currently studying towards a RIBA Part 1 Certificate in Architecture.

Joel joined Tyrrell Dowinton Architects in 2020 and has worked in the architectural sector since 2017. He has a particular interest in the technical aspects of detailed design as well as the production of photorealistic renders.

Since joining TDA James has gained a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment. He is currently studying towards his RIBA Part 1 Certificate in Architecture.

Chris graduated from the University of Brighton in 2013 with a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology. Chris has worked on a variety of projects including high profile residential developments in London.

Sam joined Tyrrell Dowinton Architects in 2023 after beginning his Architecture BArch (Hons) degree. Next year he is hoping to achieve his Bachelor of Architecture and RIBA Part 1 certification.

Adam is currently enrolled on the States Apprenticeship Scheme at The College of Further Education where he is working towards a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment.

Laurie joined the team in the role of office manager and is instrumental in the day-to-day running of the practice.

Jennie provides administrative support, undertaking projects necessary to streamline workflow as well as marketing initiatives.

Duke moved to Guernsey in 2017 from a reputable breeder in Dorset and is pedigree registered with The Kennel Club.
