Market Building Rooflights

The brief was to restore the rooflight in a sympathetic manner in keeping with the protected status of the building whilst minimising ongoing maintenance. TDA researched possible solutions to maintain all the historic timbers by installing an aluminium glazed capping system, to replace the timber glazing beads, helping to protect the historic timbers from the elements. Close consultation was carried out with Conservation & Design to ensure an acceptable solution was found and to minimise any potential harm to the protected building.

This rooflight is 90 metres long and the restoration is being carried out in 10-metre sections. The successful repair and decoration of the first 20-metres has been completed, with the reglazing of this section nearing completion.
